Ortiz, MMG put Honda on the pole at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca; Issues Prevent Race Day Challenge

• Bryan Ortiz, LP Montour #6 Montreal Motorsports Group Honda Civic Type R TCR start from pole, dominate opening segment prior to off-track excursion and resulting cut tire
• Dai Yoshihara and Karl Wittmer start and finish sixth in up-and-down day for the #93 Civic Type R TCR

Although the weekend was highlighted by claiming the TCR pole, it was a difficult race on Saturday for both Montreal Motorsport Group Honda Civic Type R TCR machines at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. 

Bryan Ortiz put the #6 Honda Civic Type R TCR on pole for the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca 120 — the first pole for the MMG crew in 2024. Ortiz would go on to dominate the first half of the race, leading every lap before handing over to teammate LP Montour. Resuming in third, Montour later sustain a cut tire resulting from an off-course excursion. Though they would resume, the #6 would finish tenth.

The sister #93 Honda Civic Type R TCR machine qualified sixth – Dai Yoshihara's best in IMPC competition thus far. The drifting legend would work his way up to the fourth position before handing over to co-driver Karl Wittmer. Wittmer would maintain fourth position through the early part of his stint before dropping back following contact with another competitor. The duo would come home in sixth place.
