Honda Rearview Report: January 25 - January 31, 2014

"Back in 2012, Honda reached an important milestone when we exported our one-millionth U.S.-made vehicle. This week, we announced that we passed another major mile marker by achieving net exporter status in 2013, shipping more U.S-built vehicles to overseas markets than we imported from our plants in Japan.

This marks an important moment in our company's journey over the past three decades to become a truly self-reliant operation in North America. Achieving net exporter status not only shows our commitment to producing products close to the customer, but demonstrates how Honda operations in North America are becoming a major hub of production and product creation for customers here and around the world.

This achievement also is a real tribute to the incredible hard work and commitment of all Honda associates in North America, highlighting their efforts to continually grow, learn and innovate for the benefit of the customer; and I am proud to be counted as a member of our terrific Honda North America team!"

- Rick Schostek, Senior Vice President, Honda North America
