Honda Rearview Report: June 21 - June 27, 2014
Published June 27, 2014
"Honda was recently recognized as a "Highway Safety Hero" by an organization called the Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety for Advancing Pedestrian Safety. The award recognized our industry-leading efforts in pedestrian safety and our application of rearview camera technology as standard equipment to 95 percent of Honda and Acura vehicles. Today, more than 10 million Honda and Acura U.S. vehicles have special features aimed at mitigating pedestrian injury.
This week, we showcased another important new tool in our safety research capabilities - 3D crash test visualization technology, called DELTAGEN Real Impact, that will advance the speed and efficiency of our efforts to design vehicles with enhanced safety performance. This is the result of four years of intensive effort by our U.S. engineers at Honda R&D Americas, together with Michigan-based 3DXCITE.
There are many challenges ahead as we work to realize our dream for a collision-free society. But we will continue to work in a comprehensive way to enhance safety for our customers and everyone on the road."
