American Honda Posts New October Sales Record
"Thanks to the continuing confidence of the American consumer, this looks to be a terrific month for the industry as a whole," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president of American Honda. "We've seen very strong showroom traffic as consumers continue to respond positively to our products. It is encouraging to see the American public's desire to help keep the economy moving."
Honda Division sales of 90,607 were up 19.1% for the month on record October sales of Civic, CR-V and Odyssey models as well as continued strong sales of Accord and S2000. Year-to-date Honda Division sales of 880,443 are up 0.8 percent through the end of October.
Acura Division sales rose 17.1 percent for the month to 14,965 as the 3.2 TL sedan and MDX sport-utility vehicle both set new October sales records. Also coming on strong is the all-new RSX sports coupe with sales of 3,144 for the month and 11,592 since its July debut. Acura's record pace year-to-date sales are up 22.3 percent to 142,161, just shy of the Division's best ever, full year record of 143,708 vehicles, set in 1991.
