Statement by American Honda Regarding Expanded Recall of Takata Non-desiccated Passenger Front Airbag Inflators: Phase 2

Jan 10, 2017 — In the second phase of planned recalls first announced by NHTSA in May 2016 and based on recent Defect Information Reports (17E-001, 17E-002, and 17E-003) from the airbag inflator supplier Takata, Honda will conduct recalls covering approximately 1.29 million Honda and Acura automobiles in the United States to replace, free of charge to vehicle owners, Takata passenger front airbag inflators that do not contain a moisture absorbing desiccant. Excluding any vehicles subject to the earlier Takata airbag inflator recalls, approximately 772,000 additional Honda and Acura vehicles in the U.S. will become subject to recall as a result of this action.

Statement by American Honda Regarding Rear Wire Harness Recall: 2017 Ridgeline AWD

Dec 29, 2016 — American Honda will voluntarily recall approximately 9,200 Ridgeline pickup trucks equipped with all-wheel-drive (AWD) from the 2017 model year to inspect and, if needed, repair the rear wire harness, free of charge. No crashes or injuries have been reported related to this issue, which was discovered through warranty claims.

Statement by American Honda Regarding Rear Side Marker Lights Recall: 2016 Civic Coupe

Aug 10, 2016 — American Honda will voluntarily recall 11,846 Civic Coupes from the 2016 model year to inspect the rear side marker lights to determine if they illuminate properly and, if necessary, replace the rear light assembly, free of charge. Honda discovered this issue during routine vehicle inspections at the factory and has received no related customer or dealer reports.

Statement by American Honda Regarding Fuel Tank Weld Recall: 2015-2016 Acura MDX, 2015-2016 Honda Odyssey and 2016 Honda Pilot

Jul 6, 2016 — American Honda will voluntarily recall a combined total of 39 Honda and Acura vehicles in the United States to replace the vehicles’ fuel tanks, free of charge. Certain 2015-2016 Acura MDX, 2015-2016 Honda Odyssey and 2016 Honda Pilot vehicles will require free repair as a result of this action.

May 27, 2016 — Based on recent Defect Information Reports (16E-042, 16E-043 and 16E-044) from the airbag inflator supplier, Takata, Honda will conduct recalls (16V-344 and 16V-346) covering approximately 4.5 million Honda and Acura automobiles in the United States to replace, free of charge to vehicle owners, Takata passenger front airbag inflators that do not contain a moisture absorbing desiccant.
