Statement by American Honda Regarding Second Row Outboard Seat Frame Recall: 2022 Honda Odyssey

  • 274 Odyssey minivans are affected in United States
  • 2nd row outboard seats may not lock in place and could move unexpectedly along the seat rails
  • No injuries reported related to this defect

Honda will voluntarily recall 274 Odyssey minivans from the 2022 model year in the United States to replace the second-row outboard seat frames, for free. Manual adjustments to the second-row outboard seat rails during the assembly process may have deformed the seat rail locking mechanism, potentially preventing the seat from locking. If the second-row outboard seat cannot maintain a fixed, locked position, the seat may move unexpectedly, increasing the risk of injury. Honda has received no reports of injuries related to this issue.

Honda is announcing this recall to encourage vehicle owners to seek the free recall repairs as soon as they receive notification from Honda. Mailed notification to vehicle owners will begin in mid-July 2021, and owners of these vehicles can determine now if their vehicles are included in the recall by going to www.recalls.honda.com or by calling (888) 234-2138.
