Honda Rearview Report: September 12 - September 18, 2015

"We had a lot of fun this week with the debut of the all-new, 10th-generation Honda Civic Sedan and the celebration of a major milestone in the production of our 30 millionth vehicle in North America.

The 2016 Civic lineup, starting with the sedan, is the most ambitious redesign of this iconic model in our history and is geared toward providing incredible new value and creating a new benchmark in the mainstream compact class. And our investments in our North American production capabilities are key to this effort. In fact, in a first for Honda, our Alliston, Ontario, Canada plant is serving as the global lead plant for Civic production worldwide, while its two new engines – including our first turbo engine for the Honda brand in the U.S. – and CVT transmissions will be produced in our plants in Ohio, Canada and Mexico.

Today, we have the capacity to produce nearly two million Honda and Acura automobiles in North America, comprising more than 90 percent of the vehicles we sell in the region. Over the 33 years of building products in this region and 30-million units of production, we have steadily advanced our manufacturing capabilities in North America to deliver outstanding quality and value for our customers here and around the world.

We are incredibly grateful for and honored by the trust that our customers continue to place in Honda -- very proud of our associates and the incredible commitment they show daily to meeting and exceeding the expectations of our customers – and excited about bringing to them a dynamic new 2016 Honda Civic sedan this fall!"
