Michael Tinch is the vice president of Power Unit Operations (PUO) within Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC (HDMA), which incorporates Anna Engine Plant (AEP), the Honda Transmission Plants in Ohio and Georgia, and the powertrain quality and delivery teams of the Purchasing and Supply Chain Center in Ohio. He is also the plant lead of AEP in Ohio, where he is responsible for overall manufacturing operations at Honda's largest and most vertically integrated auto engine plant in the world.

Tinch started his career at Honda in 1994, at AEP as a staff engineer in Product Engineering focused on production of automatic transmissions.

In 1998, he transferred to the Honda Transmission Plant – Ohio (formerly Honda Transmission Manufacturing of America) where he became a member of the plant start-up team.

In 1999, he joined the Honda Alabama Auto Plant (AAP) (formerly Honda Manufacturing of Alabama) project as an engineering coordinator where he helped startup engine and frame production at the new plant and then served in various other capacities.

In 2005, Tinch became a department manager in Product Engineering for both engine and frame production at AAP.

In 2011, he became the engine plant quality leader and assistant chief inspection engineer of the Powertrain Division at AAP.

In 2014, Tinch was named division manager of the Quality Division at AAP, overseeing vehicle quality and product engineering.

In 2021, Tinch was named the lead of the Engine Manufacturing Division at AAP.

In 2023, he became the plant lead of the Anna Engine Plant (AEP), with responsibility for 2,800 associates performing various casting, machining and assembly operations.

In July 2023, Tinch assumed his role as vice president and plant lead of AEP.

In April 2024, Tinch took on additional responsibility as vice president of Power Unit Operations.

Tinch holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University located in West Lafayette, Indiana.
