AcuraWatch™ 360

  • AcuraWatch™ 360  is Acura's new more Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with Active Lane Change Assist, Lane Change Collision Mitigation and Front Cross Traffic Warning
  • Introduces more advanced driver-assistive capabilities thanks to additional radars, a higher-fidelity front camera and new front millimeter wave radar
  • AcuraWatch™ 360 suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies debuts on the 2025 Acura MDX Type S with Advance Package, the performance brand's flagship

Cutting-edge active and passive safety performance is as much a part of the Acura commitment to Precision Crafted Performance as horsepower and handling, and this includes the continued advancement of the AcuraWatch™ suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies, which is standard equipment on every Acura sedan and SUV.

With the arrival of the new 2025 MDX Type S with Advance Package, Acura introduces a new more advanced AcuraWatch™ 360 suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies. Standard on the performance brand's flagship SUV, AcuraWatch™ 360 introduces multiple new driver assistance features and capabilities that utilize additional cameras and millimeter wave radar to enhance safety performance, including Active Lane Change Assist, Lane Change Collision Mitigation and Front Cross Traffic Warning. The standard AcuraWatch™ suite of safety and driver assistive technologies has also been updated for enhanced safety performance.

AcuraWatch™ 360 is equipped with new and improved hardware, including an updated front long-range millimeter wave radar behind the Acura emblem, an updated front camera at the top of the windshield, new millimeter wave radars at all four corners, and a new steering wheel touch sensor. Together, this hardware enables multiple new driver assistance features, including:

  • Active Lane Change Assist1: Can complete a full lane change automatically when the driver pushes the turn signal stalk halfway in the desired direction, while Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)2 are active. This feature is enabled on geo-fenced divided highways detected in Google Maps using Google built-in 3.
  • Lane Change Collision Mitigation4: If the driver begins changing into a lane that is already occupied, the system can detect the other vehicle and steer back into the original lane. Additionally, if the driver begins changing lanes while another vehicle simultaneously changes into the same lane, the system can detect the other vehicle and steer back into the original lane.
  • Front Cross Traffic Warning5: When driving at a low speed or pulling forward from a stop, the system can detect vehicles approaching from the side and warn the driver using audible alerts and displaying visual indicators showing the direction from which the detected vehicle is approaching in the Acura Precision Cockpit digital instrument cluster, the multi-view camera display (if active) and the Head-Up Display (Advance package).

AcuraWatch™ 360 hardware also enhances existing driver assistance and collision avoidance technology, including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)6 with smoother acceleration and deceleration, longer-range Blind Spot Information System (BSI)7, and more capable Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)8 that can detect oncoming vehicles and additional potential collision scenarios.

  1. The systems are not a substitute for your own visual assessment before changing lanes and may not detect all objects, or provide complete information about conditions, behind or to the side of the vehicle. System accuracy will vary based on weather, size of object, and speed. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions. Select service plan required.
  2. LKAS only assists driver in maintaining proper lane position when lane markings are identified without a turn signal in use and can only apply mild steering torque to assist. LKAS may not detect all lane markings; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed and road condition. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.3 Apple CarPlay is a registered trademark of Apple Inc.

  4. The systems are not a substitute for your own visual assessment before changing lanes or backing up, and may not detect all objects, or provide complete information about conditions, behind or to the side of the vehicle. System accuracy will vary based on weather, size of object, and speed. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.
  5. The systems are not a substitute for your own visual assessment before entering an intersection or driving forward, and may not detect all objects, or provide complete information about conditions, in front or to the side of the vehicle. System accuracy will vary based on weather, size of object, and speed. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.
  6. ACC with Low-Speed Follow cannot detect all objects ahead and may not detect a given object; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed, and other factors. ACC should not be used in heavy traffic, poor weather, or on winding roads. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.
  8. CMBS cannot detect all objects ahead and may not detect a given object; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed and other factors. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. System designed to mitigate crash forces. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.
  9. FCW cannot detect all objects ahead and may not detect a given object; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed and other actors. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. FCW does not include a braking function. Driver remains responsible for safely operative vehicle and avoiding collisions.
  10. LDW only alerts drivers when lane drift is detected without a turn signal in use. LDW may not detect all lane markings or lane departures; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed and road condition. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.
  11. Road Departure Mitigation only alerts drivers when lane drift is detected without a turn signal in use and can apply mild steering torque to assist driver in maintaining proper lane position and/or brake pressure to slow the vehicle's departure from a detected lane. RDM may not detect all lane markings or lane departures; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed and road condition. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. Driver remaining responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.
  12. TSR cannot detect all traffic signs and may misidentify certain signs. Accuracy will vary based on weather and other factors. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. Driver remains responsible for complying with all traffic regulations.
