Honda Associate Ryan Tocker Recognized as an Automotive News Notable Military Veteran in Automotive Industry

Ryan Tocker, an engineer with Honda's Auto Development Center (ADC) in Ohio, has been named a 2021 Automotive News Notable Military Veteran in Automotive. Tocker is featured in a special section in the November 8 issue of the industry magazine.

Tocker, 26, is a native of Wilmington, Delaware, serving as a Sergeant in the Army National Guard. He is co-founder of the Honda Military Veterans & Supporters (HMVS) Business Resource Group, established at the ADC in 2019. Together with his peers, he is focused on creating an internal community that connects Honda's military, veterans, active reserve, retired service members, military family and friends

Tocker also volunteered for a mission with the Ohio Army National Guard in 2020, to support food banks during the pandemic. Stationed at the National Guard base in Springfield, Ohio, he was part of a team that supported the Springfield Second Harvest Food Bank by volunteering for food drives and supporting warehouse operations. He also created a weekly food delivery program to meet emergency food bank client and seniors' needs.

At Honda, Tocker is an engineer responsible for the design and development of vehicle underbody components. Most recently, he served as a mass production underbody design engineer for the 2021 Acura TLX.

"This recognition from Automotive News is an honor for me and a tribute to all the veterans and the communities I have served, both through Honda and with the National Guard. I am very proud to serve," said Tocker.

In its first year, the Automotive News Notable Military Veterans in Automotive program recognizes veterans working in the industry who have a record of outstanding career accomplishments, contributions to their community, mentorship of others and/or aiding veterans in the transition to civilian life.
