Honda Teams With National Fatherhood Initiative and Life of Dad to Present “Dads Doing Good” Campaign

  • New social campaign features dads participating in child-centered community service projects throughout Los Angeles this summer
  • "Dad's Doing Good" features 2014 Honda Odyssey as mobile library

Honda has teamed up with the National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI) and Life of Dad (LoD) to showcase inspirational videos of fathers helping kids and families titled, "Dads Doing Good". The program sponsored by Honda, encourages fathers to engage with kids and features them conducting child-centric community service projects throughout Los Angeles.

Featured at honda.lifeofdad.com and http://www.fatherhood.org/dadsdoinggood, the campaign will include videos highlighting numerous projects in which dads use the 2014 Honda Odyssey in their efforts to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families.

"We are proud to support the 'Dads Doing Good' program this summer," said Alicia Jones, manager of Honda and Acura social marketing at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "The 2014 Honda Odyssey is the perfect vehicle to help enable these dads to help in the community."

The first video in the online series showcases a mobile library created using the 2014 Honda Odyssey, helping three fathers surprise preschool children in their school's playground. The roomy interior and large cargo space of the Odyssey easily enabled the dads to transport hundreds of books directly to the kids. Children receive one-on-one time with local community fathers where the books are read aloud and then donated to their school.

LoD and NFI will continue to share their community outreach efforts via the Internet and respective social media channels. The series will roll out through the month of August with more uplifting stories. The hashtag #DadsDoingGood will be used to engage conversations about the importance of fathers getting involved and engaged with their communities.

"We are extremely grateful to the team at Honda, which has allowed us to utilize the 2014 Honda Odyssey, in the support of such a great cause – assisting families and kids," said Life of Dad Founder and CEO, Tom Riles. "Thanks to Honda, the National Fatherhood Initiative and Life of Dad are able to share stories celebrating the good that dads do in communities across the country in a 'big way,' furthering Honda's commitment to helping families and communities live better lives."
