Brian Stokes Wins Honda Contingency Bonus

American Honda congratulates 2010 WERA National Challenge Superbike Championship winner Brian Stokes who took home the $35,000.00 contingency bonus, which American Honda announced earlier in the year. Stokes piloted his CBR1000RR to an impressive seven of eight possible podiums en route to the championship, including two wins, five second-place finishes and a fourth-place. Amassing 138 points in the championship, Stokes finished a solid 36 points ahead of his nearest competition.

"Honda really stepped it up this year by offering such a generous contingency bonus at a time when other manufacturers weren't offering bonuses," said Stokes. "This was my first time racing a CBR1000RR and I was very impressed with the Honda package. Right off the bat the bike was fast and I was within nine-tenths of a second of the lap record at the first track I went to. I had a great time racing the CBR1000RR and I can't thank Honda enough for supporting the WERA National Challenge Superbike Championship."

"American Honda has been supporting grassroots road racing for many years by offering a solid contingency program that pays real money and keeps riders competing week in and week out," says Keith Dowdle, Assistant Manager HRCA. "From MD250s to CBR1000s, we've done our best to cover as many riders as possible and we hope to continue that support in 2011 with an even better road race program for WERA, USGPRU and others."
