International Automotive Supplier Continental Discusses the Changing Demands for Future Mobility at the SAE World Congress

As the company providing Executive Leadership for the SAE 2015 World Congress & Exhibition in Detroit, Michigan, April 21-23, Honda and its partners are providing a series of brief updates leading up to the event. The following is a blog post from Jeff Klei, President, Continental, North America.

Continental is proud to be this year's Tier One Strategic Partner at the SAE 2015 World Congress, alongside Honda. At this year's event, Continental will be showcasing some of its latest technology and engaging in thought-leading discussions on the power of mobility and innovation. One of the highlights of the World Congress is the keynote speeches delivered by industry leaders and executives from around the world. This year, Helmut Matschi, Member of the Executive Board & President of the Interior Division of Continental will be delivering the keynote address on Thursday morning. During his speech, Mr. Matschi will unveil key findings of Continental's 2014 Mobility Study for North America. This study was conducted to gain a better understanding of what consumers in the U.S. and around the world are looking for in car ownership and personal mobility.

As we all know, the future of mobility is rapidly being defined by consumer trends and society demands.  As a result, this interweaving of social conditions and personal mobility preferences challenges the automotive industry today. For example, how does the industry bring automatization and connectivity to consumers while controlling the challenges from growing expectations? During Mr. Matschi's keynote, he will address these increasing concerns, as well as discuss other business challenges facing the automotive industry. This dynamic and thought-provoking conversation will take place in the AVL Technology Leadership Center at Cobo Center on Thursday, April 23, at 9 a.m. All registered participants are welcome to attend.

The keynote speeches are just one element planned at this year's World Congress. Additional panel presentations are scheduled throughout the day that address key challenges, issues and opportunities that face the industry and that will help shape the future of mobility.
