Stephen Roberts is the chief information security officer of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (AHM), responsible for Honda’s cybersecurity, information technology governance and enterprise architecture initiatives.

Roberts joined Honda in 1998, as manager of the AHM Infrastructure Engineering & Design department, responsible for enterprise servers, networking and the email network.

In April 2007, he took on the role as senior manager of Technical Services, overseeing all AHM compute, network, database and datacenter services.

In July 2012, Roberts was promoted to assistant vice president of Technical Services.

In October 2013, Roberts assumed the role of assistant vice president of Systems Innovation, Development & Support at American Honda Finance Corporation (AHFC), responsible for overseeing systems development, support and privacy for AHM’s dedicated financial lender, which provides retail financing for Honda and Acura automobiles, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, power equipment, and marine products, as well as floor plan financing for Honda and Acura dealers.

In November 2019, he was named AHM’s chief information security officer, responsible for Honda’s defenses against cyber threats, as well as management of governance, risk, compliance and enterprise architecture for North America.

Roberts holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Howard University in Washington, D.C., a Master of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., and an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
